Dr. Crabtree joined JSU in 2018 and teaches across both the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. She is board-certified as a family nurse practitioner and a certified medical examiner with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Her practice specialties include occupational medicine, family medicine, and post-acute and long-term care.

Academic/Research Interests

Dr. Crabtree has a special interest in occupational medicine, community health, and wellness. Other areas of research include chronic disease management, interprofessional education, and telehealth. She co-developed a community-based program aimed to improve the quality of life of individuals with chronic lung disease. The program, a collaborative effort between JSU and community partners, incorporated interprofessional education for students in the School of Health Professions and Wellness. Students in healthcare-related disciplines gained real-world experience working collaboratively to improve the health outcomes of community-dwelling residents.
