Area Under Tornado Watch

The National Weather Service has placed Calhoun County under a Tornado Watch until 6 p.m. CST this evening, and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 5:15 p.m. CST this evening.

According to the Calhoun County EMA, a line of thunderstorms will be moving across the area this afternoon and evening. The National Weather Service predicts that the main threat with these storms will be high damaging winds up to 60 MPH. There is also a chance of hail and a possible tornado associated with these storms. 

The storms are anticipated to arrive in our area around 2 PM at the earliest and exit our area by 8 PM. Calhoun County has been moved into the Elevated Threat Area. The main threat from this storm system will by damaging winds up to 60 MPH.
