01/25/2016

The Calhoun County Civic Chorale will begin its spring season on Monday, Jan. 25, 2016 at 7:15 p.m. in the Performance Center of Mason Hall on the Jacksonville State University campus. The Chorale will be joining forces with JSU's A Cappella Choir to perform Mendelssohn’s "Psalm 42" and Leonard Bernstein’s "Chichester Psalms."

The Chorale is under the direction of Dr. Patricia Corbin, JSU Director of Choral Activities and is accompanied by Dr. Lornalee Curtis. The Calhoun County Civic Chorale is one of five choral ensembles sponsored by the JSU David L. Walters Department of Music. The singers in the Chorale are members of the community and JSU students and faculty. The Chorale meets every Monday night up until the final performance. The cost of music and dues for community members is $38.

Chorale members are singers who have voices that can blend well with other, are able to learn their individual vocal parts from written music, and enjoy singing classical choral masterworks. New members are always welcome. The concert will be on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Anniston.
