University Statement Regarding Wintry Weather Forecast for January 28

The National Weather Service forecasts a winter weather event for some areas of Alabama on Tuesday, January 28, 2014. The main areas expected to be impacted lie south of Calhoun County.

At this time, the university remains open and classes will take place as scheduled on Tuesday, January 28. Jacksonville State University is monitoring the weather situation closely and is prepared to make further announcements should conditions worsen. Any weather statements relevant to JSU's operations-- including class cancellations/closures-- will be shared on the JSU website, via JSU E-Alert and email, through local print and broadcast media, and on the university's social media platforms.

As always, we encourage students commuting from outlying areas to monitor road conditions carefully and use your best judgment before traveling to campus.

All students, faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to enroll in the University's Emergency Alert System.
