Calhoun County Chamber Hosts 11th Annual Economic Forum

In this day and age, it’s not unusual for business owners to be concerned with the economic state of their local community. The Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce, along with presenting sponsors Alabama Power Company and Jacksonville State University (JSU), will be hosting The 11th Annual Economic Forum with goals of educating and informing on the economic activity in Calhoun County and greater communities. 

The Economic Forum will take place on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in room 250 at the Merrill Building on the campus of JSU. The cost to attend the event is $15 for Calhoun County Chamber members and $20 for non-chamber members. 

The forum, which will give an update on economic activity and impact for Calhoun County, will also highlight reports from the local region, the state of Alabama and the nation as a whole. The results of a recent chamber membership survey, including predictions for the upcoming year, will be shared with attendees along with a real-time follow-up survey. Confirmed guest speakers include: Dr. Bill Meehan, President of JSU, Dr. Richard Cobb, College of Commerce & Business Administration, JSU, Dr. Mark Hearn, College of Commerce & Business Administration, JSU, Johnny Smith, Mayor of Jacksonville, Robin Scott McClellan Development Authority, Nathan Hill, Military Liaison Chamber of Commerce and Lesley McClure, Federal Reserve Bank.
