Recently, Alpha Omicron Pi at Jacksonville State University teamed up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of North East Alabama as one of their Philanthropic community services.

Amy Staples of Big Brothers Big Sisters oriented the members on the program's opportunities and AOII's Philanthropy Chair, Meagan Boren, of Birmingham, Alabama worked with the membership to organize the official partnership and volunteer activities. This partnership will greatly benefit the Operation Bigs Mentoring of military youth through our Military Mentoring Program, as well as all the other programs supported by Big Brothers Big Sisters.

To kick off a new school year, several members of AOII volunteered to help with BBBS annual Back to School Party at Sunshine Skate Center in Oxford, Alabama. Amy Staples, Community Liaison for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Anniston said, "I am very impressed with this group of young ladies. They are dependable and so excited about the opportunity to give back to the community through our organization. Everyone at Big Brothers Big Sisters is very excited to have their help, and look forward to working with such a great group of ladies as we continue to mentor and make BIG impacts in the lives of children."
