Sparkman Hall Evacuated- Updated

UPDATED: Thursday, 3/22- 3:45 p.m.

From the Office of University Housing and Residence Life- Sparkman Hall is now reopening and residents may return to the building at this time. If you're a resident of Sparkman, please note that there is sufficient hot water and gas for the evening; however, the gas/hot water will be shut off on Friday morning to complete repairs.


UPDATED: Thursday, 3/22- 3:14 p.m.

From the Office of University Housing and Residence Life- Sparkman is still evacuated and the auditorium of the Theron Montgomery Building is available for Sparkman Hall residents who need a place to go. If you're a resident of Sparkman, updates will be posted here and on University Housing and Residence Life's Facebook page and Twitter feed.

From the University Police Department:

Due to the report of a possible gas leak at Sparkman Hall, the building has been evacuated. Emergency and utility workers are on the scene now.

As soon as the building has been properly ventilated, the dorm will reopen.
