Dr. Gail Steward, Associate Professor of Music, has been teaching music at JSU since 2000. She teaches applied piano, harmonization, and accompanying. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Steward held positions at Central Michigan University, St. Mary-of-the-Woods College (IN), University of North Alabama, and Anderson University (IN).

She received a Doctor of Arts at Ball State University where Dr. Steward served as Director of Accompanying and was a member of the Graduate Piano Trio, an "Arts in the Schools" performing group. Dr. Steward performs solo and chamber music throughout the South and Midwest, where she serves as a frequent adjudicator and clinician.
