Dr. Christopher Probst is in his first year teaching the trumpet studio at Jacksonville State. He also coaches brass quintets and assists in the Jazz Studies area.  

A native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Dr. Probst earned a Bachelor of Music Education and a Bachelor of Trumpet Performance from Lebanon Valley College of Pennsylvania, a Masters of Trumpet Performance from the University of Arizona, a Masters of Jazz Studies at Florida International University, and his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Georgia.

Prior to his appointment at JSU, Dr. Probst held teaching positions at Georgia College and State University, Gordon State College, and Brewton-Parker College. Dr. Probst has been a frequent performer throughout the Southeast of Classical, Jazz, Latin, and commercial playing for many years. He has had a successful private studio in addition to frequent Middle School, High School, and Collegiate master classes.
