MFT STUDY GUIDE
As part of the assessment for our computer science (CS) and computer information systems (CIS) programs, the department requires each graduating senior in CS and CIS to take the corresponding Major Field Test (MFT). These exams cover all the courses that are required for the major. To help students prepare for these exams, the department has created a study guide for these MFTs.

SOFTWARE CHECKOUT
The MCIS department maintains a license agreement with the Microsoft Developers Network Academic Alliance (MSDNAA). Under this agreement, faculty and students in the department have access to all Microsoft development tools, operating systems, and server software. If you already have an MSDNAA account, the software is available for download or CD check-out at Microsoft's e-academy. To request the availability of additional software, or to request an account, please contact Petrica Trifas. Be sure to provide your name, JSU student number and email address in your correspondence.
Note: When you log in to the MSDN Academic Alliance Software Center you will have the option to check out a software CD (free) or purchase a copy of it. In order to check out the software, you must select the software product from the search drop down list. If you would like to get your own personal copy for a small fee, you can click on the product icon displayed on the main page.
STUDIO GUIDE
Every graduate student seeking a Master of Science degree in Computer Systems and Software Design must complete a two-semester studio component. For more information, students may consult a working version of the department's Studio Guide.
