Duties & Responsibilities
Supervises the staff and activities of the Library's four Public Services areas: Circulation, Reserves, Interlibrary Loan, and Music Lab; administers the Voyager circulation module; and manages security.
Normal Working Hours
Fall, Spring, May & Summer Sessions | Monday-Thursday: 7:00 A.M.-3:30 P.M., Friday: 7:30 A.M.-4:30 P.M.
Biography
In August, 1979 Ms. Deering-Barrett was hired as a Cataloging Technician and, in 1980, became Serials Assistant. While employed at JSU, she graduated from New World College of Business in Anniston, Alabama. In 1984, she moved to the 4th Floor of the library and became Secretary to the Director of Print Media. In 1985, she became Head of the Interlibrary Loan Department and, in 2003, became Supervisor of User Services and Interlibrary Loan. Her office is located in the lobby.
