Housing

On-campus accommodations

JSU offers several on-campus housing options. On-campus living provides opportunities for involvement, activities, and knowledge. We believe that learning does not end in the classroom but is enhanced by interacting with a diverse group of residents, participating in leadership opportunities, and engaging in life-learning activities.

For information about housing, application deadlines and meal plan options, please email jsuhousing@jsu.edu

Off-campus accommodations

Students who do not plan to live on-campus may elect to rent an off-campus apartment. Arrangements for off-campus housing is solely the responsibility of the student. International House and Programs can provide phone numbers and addresses of nearby apartments for rent. Off-campus housing arrangements can only be made upon arrival; therefore, the student should be prepared to stay in a hotel while searching for off-campus apartments.

It is important that students understand the legal responsibilities of renting in the U.S. One should always see an apartment before signing a lease, and most apartment managers will require a 12-month lease.

Transportation

JSU offers Gamecock Express services as reliable and safe transit services to our students, faculty and staff.

International House Program

The International House Program began in 1946 with five students from France. Initially, the program focused on languages. Today, there are 40 members of the program - 20 American students and 20 internationals.

Each international student is from a different country and is roomed with an American student. Though emphasis is still placed on languages, greater importance is now placed on the overall aspects of cultural understanding. Truly, the International House Program provides "A Window on the World" for students at Jacksonville State University and the surrounding community.
