Research interests: 

Although my primary research interests focus on natural hazards management, I am interested to explore all relevent issues related to emergency management. Currently my research interests include social vulnerability, community resilience, emergency management policy and practice, GIS applications, social media, vulnerable populations, mitigation techniques, climate change, and so on. [1] Assessment of socio-economic vulnerabilities of African Americans in the Gulf States using GIS. Funded by the Ford Foundation through the Southern Regional Asset Building Coalition. 2009-2010.

[2] Minority students and community outreach on hurricane preparedness and adaptation. Funded by the Gulf of Mexico Alliance Education. 2010-2011.
