Jacksonville, AL - Sadly, we report the passing of our first Bachelor’s degree graduate Lorraine Jance. Lorraine received her BS in Emergency Management from us in 2003. Lorraine, age 65, was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, veteran and public servant.
“Her life dream of helping the community was reached through the employment by the St. Louis County Communications Department. She not only was a first line dispatcher but a center supervisor that the community and law enforcement personnel could count on. Lorraine although small in stature was a bundle of energy and thrived on assisting those in need. Always one to step up and tackle a challenge, whether it was a lost child or an officer, she would always go above and beyond to creatively assist. Her 911 family of co-workers and officers knew that they could count on Lorraine to insure that safety is priority. Countless stories have been told that when a call came in and the task was near impossible Lorraine could be counted on to come through with the required information.”
Lorraine lost her battle with ALS on Friday, October 12th. May she rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
