Conditions & Requirements for Employment

The following items are conditions and requirements for employment at Jacksonville State University:

  • JSU is an E-Verify participant As a federal contractor, JSU is required to use the E-Verify system to authenticate employment eligibility of employees working in the United States on assignments paid by a federal contract that includes the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) E-Verify clause (73 FR 67704). Due to E-Verify guidelines as a part of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) division, employees are required to enter their Social Security Number in section 1 when completing the Form I-9. 
  • Direct Deposit All employees must complete a Direct Deposit Authorization Form as a condition of employment, as indicated on the employment application. If the employee chooses a checking account option, a voided check, or a letter from the employee’s bank verifying the account information and signed by a bank employee, must also be submitted.
  • New Employee Orientation All staff employees (temporary and student employees) are required to participate in the New Employee Orientation (NEO).  NEO covers university culture, expectations, policies, procedures, and benefits offered to employees.

  • Attendance & Leave: Jacksonville State University offers a variety of generous and flexible leave benefits to all eligible employees. The University recognizes that all employees should enjoy occasional time away from work using vacation and holiday time, and that both personal and medical situations may temporarily interfere with an employee's ability to work.
