The Health Questionnaire (HQ) is no longer a required activity to earn the $50 monthly wellness premium waiver. The data collected through the Health Questionnaires remains beneficial in improving the well being of our membership, and will be available optionally through the www.MyActiveHealth.com/PEEHIP portal, but it is not necessary to achieve the waiver of the wellness premium. Please note that the Wellness Screening and Health Coaching (if required) will continue to be required activities. To verify your specific requirements, visit www.MyActiveHealth.com/PEEHIP and click on “My Required Activities.”

Scale Back Alabama - DROP 10

Jacksonville State University’s Wellness Center will be serving as a weigh-in site for the state’s largest weight-loss and exercise program, Scale Back Alabama. In its 12th year, the program has resulted in 1.35 million pounds lost and the continued establishment of healthy lifestyles. The 2018 contest starts January 22.

Adults in teams of two can go online to scalebackalabama.com/join to register for the free, 9-week program and then go to Stephenson Hall to weigh in from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. during the week of Jan. 22 – 26. All participants must be 18 years of age and older, live or work in Alabama and must weigh-in at an official site to be eligible to participate. Those who lose at least 10 pounds will be included in a drawing for cash prizes on April 17.

At JSU, we know the importance of good health and also realize that our community could use some healthy tips and encouragement,” said Gina Mabrey. “People working to lose weight are more successful with support and encouragement, and Scale Back Alabama offers a fun way to team up with another individual to get healthy.”

Scale Back Alabama is a collaboration of the Alabama Hospital Association, the Alabama Department of Public Health and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.
