Residence Life Coordinator (RLC)

The RLCs are full-time professional staff members that live within the residence halls and the apartment area. They supervise student staff and maintain an environment conducive to learning, growth, and development. UHRL currently has six RLCs:

Student Staff

RA Training 2013


Assistant Residence Life Coordinators (ARLCs) are graduate students who assist in the administration and are the primary supervisor for all day and night time desk assistants employed with UHRL.

Housing Graduate Assistants (GAs)
 are full time graduate students that are responsible for assisting in the administration of UHRL.


Resident Assistants (RAs)
 are full-time students that reside in the residence halls and apartment areas. They serve as a resource, explain and enforce UHRL policies, respond to emergency situations, sponsor social and educational programs, and promote the growth of a positive learning community on the floor or area and in the building. *Must have 2.25 GPA and 32 completed credit hours.*

Day Desk Assistants (DDAs) are housing staff members responsible for covering shifts at the main desk of each residence hall or apartment area office. *Must qualify for federal work study program.*

Night Desk Assistants (NDAs) serve as an added security measure to ensure a safe living environment in our halls and apartments The NDA responsibilities include making sure all exterior doors are closed and locked and monitoring residence hall entrances.

Student Workers on Assigned Tasks (S.W.A.T.) are responsible for tasks such as picking up debris on campus grounds; watering plants; blowing debris with a leaf blower; moving furniture to areas around campus, cleaning apartments, offices, etc.
