GETTING TO KNOW THE HELPFUL RESIDENCE LIFE STAFF
You will want to get to know the residence life staff responsible for helping maintain a community environment that is clean and safe for all residents.
Each residence hall and apartment has a RLC, a full-time professional staff member, living and working in the residence halls or apartments. RLCs manage the day-to-day operations of the front desks and supervise the RA staff. They are interested in helping you have a positive living experience on campus and they are available to answer questions and assist with any issues or concerns. A RLC is on call 24 hours a day on campus and is available to respond to crisis and emergency situations.
Each area also has an Assistant Residence Life Coordinator (ARLC), a graduate student, who lives in the residence halls and apartments. The ARLCs also assist with the daily operations and are responsible for supervising the Desk Assistant (DA) staff for their area.
A custodian is assigned to each residence hall with the responsibility of cleaning the common spaces (e.g., bathrooms, hallways, lounges, etc.) and removing trash. Custodians work hard to maintain a clean and safe environment for all students living in the residence halls and apartments. They work five days a week between 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Please help the custodians maintain a clean living environment by not creating messes and picking up trash as you see it.

Each residence hall and apartment complex has a maintenance worker responsible for the work orders in that building. Maintenance staff works Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. One maintenance worker is on call at all times for emergency maintenance issues. Work orders can be submitted online via MyResWebCenter.
