  • Emergency Management - A graduate certificate in Emergency Management is available for non-degree students who wish to specialize in the area of Emergency Management. This certificate provides students with graduate level instruction in Homeland Security and balances conceptual knowledge in emergency management with skill acquisition in crisis management, hazard assessment, and other analytic and management expertise. Upon satisfactorily completing the requirements of the graduate certificate, an entry will be made on the student’s transcript. A student who completes the graduate certificate in Emergency Management may apply for 15 hours of earned credit towards the Master of Science degree with a major in Emergency Management.
  • Emergency Preparedness Nursing CoordinatorA graduate certificate in Emergency Preparedness Nursing Coordination is available for non-degree students who wish to specialize in the area of emergency preparedness. All courses are delivered through distance education. Upon satisfactorily completing the requirements of the graduate certificate, an entry will be made on the student’s transcript. A student who completes the graduate certificate may apply these hours of earned credit toward the Master of Science degree in Nursing with a concentration in Emergency Management.
  • Environmental Science Management - This program is no longer available except to students previously enrolled.) A graduate certificate in Environmental Science Management is available for non-degree students who wish to specialize in the area of environmental science management. This certificate focuses on the application of biological, chemical, and physical principles to the study of the physical environment and the solution of environmental problems, including subjects such as abating or controlling environmental pollution and degradation, the interaction between human society and the natural environment, and natural resources management. Upon satisfactorily completing the requirements of a graduate certificate, an entry will be made on the student’s transcript.
  • Geographical Information Systems - (formerly Spatial Analysis): (This program is no longer available except to students previously enrolled.) A graduate certificate in Geographical Information Systems is available for non-degree students who wish to specialize in the area of geographical information systems. This certificate focuses on the systematic study of map-making and the application of mathematical, computer, and other techniques to the analysis of large amounts of geographic data and the science of mapping geographic information. Upon satisfactorily completing the requirements of a graduate certificate, an entry will be made on the student’s transcript. 
  • Instructional Leadership - A reduced credit hour option for certification in Instructional Leadership at the Master’s Degree Level is available. Financial Aid is not available for this program.
  • Nursing Education - A graduate certificate in Nursing Education is available for non-degree seeking students who wish to teach in nursing and health professional programs, health care institutions and agencies, and in the community. The certificate provides nurses with essential knowledge and skills about teaching, program development, evaluation, clinical instruction, and other aspects of the educational process in nursing. At the conclusion of the program, graduates receive a certificate acknowledging successful completion.
  • Sport Management - (This program is no longer available except to students previously enrolled.) A graduate certificate in Sport Management is available for non-degree students who wish to specialize in the area of sport management, and it prepares individuals to apply business, coaching, and physical education principles to the organization, administration, and management of athletic programs and teams, fitness/rehabilitation facilities and health clubs, sport recreation services, and related services. Upon satisfactorily completing the requirements of the graduate certificate, an entry will be made on the student’s transcript.
