JSU Presidential Transfer
Must be unconditionally admitted to JSU prior to March 1, 2012. Must be in the 2013 graduating class; have a minimum 3.5 GPA from transferring Community College; and never attended JSU. The scholarship will pay 12 in-state traditional classroom tuition hours for the Fall and for the Spring Semesters only. The scholarship will not pay for the Distance Learning Tuition difference per hour.  The scholarship is renewable for 1 additional year, total of 48 semester hours. The scholarship is limited to the first two years at JSU. In addition to the JSU on-line application, application must be submitted through the President's Office of the Alabama community college in attendance.

Valedictorian

Scholarship is offered to full-time incoming freshmen who are declared Valedictorian their senior year of high school. The Valedictorian scholarship application cannot be submitted online. The Application must be verified by the applicant's school guidance counselor or principal.

Students are consider in-state if they meet the following criteria: Alabama resident or a resident of one of the following Georgia counties: Bartow, Carroll, Chattooga, Coweta, Douglas, Floyd, Haralson, Heard, Paulding, Polk (Documentation may be required), 2013 Alabama high school graduate or 2013 Georgia high school graduate from one of the previously listed counties, entering freshman, unconditionally accepted and U.S. citizen. Official test scores must be on file at JSU prior to the March 1 scholarship deadline.

The deadline for applying for the Valedictorian Scholarship is June 1. Renewable one year, up to 64 hours.

If you qualify for a higher academic scholarship you will have to forfeit the lower of the two.

The ACT scores listed are composite scores. The SAT scores listed are critical reading and math scores combined.

Based primarily on offices held in extracurricular activities, leadership roles, and community involvement. Renewable one year, up to 64 hours, based on continued leadership role. The Leadership scholarship application cannot be submitted online. The application must be verified and signed by the applicant's school guidance counselor or principal. A high school transcript, resume, photograph, 500-word essay, and letter of recommendation must be submitted with the Leadership scholarship application.

Students are consider in-state if they meet the following criteria: Alabama resident or a resident of one of the following Georgia counties: Bartow, Carroll, Chattooga, Coweta, Douglas, Floyd, Haralson, Heard, Paulding, Polk (Documentation may be required), 2013 Alabama high school graduate or 2013 Georgia high school graduate from one of the previously listed counties, entering freshman, unconditionally accepted and U.S. citizen. Applicants for the Elite Honors scholarship must have a high school cumulative 3.5 GPA through the 11th grade. Elite Honors candidates will be contacted and required to submit an essay and resume.

Candidates for the Elite Honors Scholarship will be selected from the Elite Scholars recipients who have accepted the Elite Scholars Scholarship.

    Alumni - Criminal Justice

    Be a United States citizen, national, or alien admitted as a refugee at the time of application. Must be full-time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in the Criminal Justice Department at JSU. GPA requirements: a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 based on a 4.0 scale and/or a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale of their major studies.
