Reference Letters
  • Guidelines for writing honest and accurate reference letters for students. Includes template for "highly recommend" category as well as suggestions for declining writing letters

  • National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) offers a template for faculty members writing reference letters
Proctoring
The need for proctoring of examinations has grown in prevalence as the surge of students enrolling in distance education formatted courses has increased. It is imperative that the environment in which students are given a graded examination meet certain standards. Further, the person elected as proctor should also fall under certain acceptable categories.
  • Review JSU's Distance Education Proctoring Information here, including a link to pre-approved proctoring sites in Alabama and Georgia
  • Many students live outside of the Alabama/Georgia area. This site may be used for locating a testing center throughout the United States:
    • Consortium of College Testing Centers --Includes a list of college testing centers throughout the United States, divided by state. Students may refer to this site if they are unable to locate a college or university located near them.
    Note: Any fees charged by the proctor will be the responsibility of the student.
  • You may use this form and make any necessary modifications when communicating with a Proctor for your student's examinations
