The Monteith Amphitheater was built in 1937 and hosted Army events that included Bob Hope, Marlene Dietrich, Lauren Bacall, Joe Lewis, Billy Graham, Dwight Eisenhower, Harry Truman, the Buffalo Soldiers and it is also thought to have served as a site for our nation's earliest act of racial integration.
