JSU Planetarium
The JSU planetarium provides an intimate setting for K-12 classroom students, youth organizations, and university students to learn about astronomy. It houses the Digistar 3SP projector, giving it the most modern digital planetarium technology in the Southeast. To arrange a time for your group or class to visit the planetarium and see their spectacular presentations, call the Jacksonville State University Field Schools at (256) 782-5697 or by e-mail at fieldschool@jsu.edu
The planetarium is located on the third floor of Martin Hall at the corner of Pelham Road and Bennett Boulevard on the JSU campus.
JSU Planetarium Programs
Second Saturday Space Safaris
Travel through space and explore planet Earth during these exciting programs for families and children. Dr. Laura Weinkauf and Dr. Kelly Gregg (of JSU Department of Physical and Earth Sciences) will be leading these programs as kids learn about outer space, watch exciting dome films about Earth and its creatures.
When: Second Saturday of each month; December through April
Where: JSU Planetarium (3rd Floor Martin Hall)
Time: 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Fee: $5 per person
