Health Insurance
As an ELI student, you are required to have health insurance the entire time you are in the program. Health insurance policies may be purchased through the ELI upon your arrival in Jacksonville. Personal policies, government policies, and sponsor-provided policies will only be considered in place of policies offered through the Institute prior to your arrival on campus. In order to be considered as a substitute policy, policies must be officially translated into English, comprehensive and current, and contain a repatriation / medical evacuation benefit (see the International Programs and Services web page to compare insurance coverage). You may fax a copy of the policy, or send it via mail to the Institute administration for consideration. Upon arrival on campus, if you do not have health insurance that has been previously approved by the ELI administration, you will be required to buy insurance offered through the Institute. You may not register for classes without ELI-approved health insurance.
Housing
You are not required to stay in campus housing. If you want to live off campus, you must independently find housing, and it is sometimes more convenient and less expensive to stay on campus. Most of the students at the ELI choose to live on campus and reside in Stadium Tower. This dorm is designated for international students and is open all year. Stadium Tower is the newest dorm on campus and offers apartment-style living conveniently located near the ELI. If you would like to see more information about the dorm rooms, please visit JSU Housing.
Payment for tuition, housing, and meal plan are due within 24 hours of your arrival on campus.
