Additionally, if you think that your former high school and university administrators and instructors might have students who would be interested in attending our courses, please tell them about the ELI. Your assistance will be very helpful in sharing information with others about the learning opportunities at the English Language Institute.

Application (Online or Downloadable)

You can apply to the English Language Institute in five easy steps.

Step 1: Please check the application deadlines on the academic calendar at the bottom of the page before starting the application process. Then fill out our online application and submit it to us electronically. If you prefer, you may print and use the downloadable application, and mail or fax it to us using the information provided in the next section below.

Step 2: Print the Application Payment Method* form and complete it.

Step 3: Fax the completed Application Payment Method form to (256) 782-8377, or send it to the mailing address provided in the section below.

Step 4: Print the ELI Student Financial Statement form and complete it.

* There is a $30 non-refundable student application fee due at the time of application either via credit card, money order (in U. S. dollars), or travelers check (in U. S. dollars) made payable to Jacksonville State University. The check must be payable through a U. S. bank, i.e. New York, with the bank's routing number encoded on the bottom left corner of the check to include the account number of the customer or bank on which the check is drawn. This applies to official / cashier's checks, personal checks, and money orders. For faster processing, credit card payments will be accepted over the telephone and via fax. If you are using a credit card, please call the Institute directly at (256) 782-8350 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. central time (Monday-Friday), or fax us at (256) 782-8377. Please be prepared to provide credit card type, name on card, number, expiration date, and security code. JSU accepts Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.

If you would like your I-20 packet sent to you via FedEx, DHL, or UPS, you must pay for this expedited service before it can be shipped by following the same guidelines used to pay the application fee. Additionally, if you apply for a session after an application deadline has passed (see the academic calendar below), you are obligated to pay for shipping via FedEx, UPS, or DHL in order to receive your I-20 packet in time to apply for a student visa.
