Honor Society

Alpha Eta Epsilon

Honor society that recognizes students majoring or minoring in Family and Consumer Sciences. Eligibility includes senior status with completion of at least 96 semester hours and 12 semester hours minimum in the field of Family and Consumer Sciences, and an overall and in-major GPA of 3.0

Professional and Departmental Clubs

American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences(AAFCS) Student Chapter

Promotes careers in Family and Consumer Sciences and emphasizes the importance of family and community. Membership is open to all Family and Consumer Science majors, minors, or students who are currently enrolled in courses in the department. Students may qualify for student membership in the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.

Student Dietetics and Hospitality & Culinary Management Association

The student association promotes the fields of dietetics and hospitality & culinary management.   Proper nutrition, culinary science, and tourism are emphasized as students develop relationships and work with professionals in the healthcare industry, child nutrition, institutional foodservice and the tourism industry.  Dietetics majors may qualify for student membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics .

JSU Dietetic Culinary & Hospitality Association (DCH)

Child Development Club

Promotes the field of child development and provide opportunities for fellowship, as well as personal and professional growth, to child development students.

Membership is open to students with a concentration or minor in child development.
