Dr. Kilgo is an Assistant Professor in Secondary Education. She obtained both a BS in Secondary Education, with concentrations in math and English; and an MS in Secondary Mathematics Education from Jacksonville State University. She received her Ed. D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Alabama.
Prior to teaching at Jacksonville State University, Dr. Kilgo taught high school mathematics for five years. Her teaching experience ranged from Consumer Math to Advanced Placement Calculus. Since becoming a member of the Jacksonville State faculty twelve years ago, she has taught various freshman and sophomore math classes. Her research interests include many different areas including technology and current practices in math education, remediation within higher education, student-athlete success, and freshman orientation programs/ first-year experience courses. Dr. Kilgo advises graduate and undergraduate students in secondary math education.
