Each year, the JSU drama department awards thousands of dollars in scholarships to talented, hardworking drama students. Scholarships are awarded through an application process that includes auditions or interviews. Students must also demonstrate a commitment to JSU productions and high academic standards.

	On campus auditions/interviews will be held on February 23, 2013. To make an appointment, please contact Linda Adams ladams@jsu.edu.
	Everyone registered for scholarship auditions/interviews will be contacted to confirm in mid- to late January.
	JSU drama will also be attending Trumbauer auditions and the State Thespian Competitions; please visit our booth at either event for more information!
Once a scholarship is awarded, students must meet the following criteria:
	Have and maintain a grade point average of 2.5 per term, 2.5 overall, and 3.0 in Drama courses. Be a declared Drama major. Have a maximum of three (3) cuts in drama related major courses. Make a contribution (either on or back stage) to each production in the term. Scholarship work and cast assignments are made and announced at the beginning of each semester. Be enrolled in at least one drama course per term. Be a full-time (12-hour load minimum) JSU student.

For their audition or portfolio review, students should prepare
Performance concentration (no Improv or original material):
	One-minute comic monologue One-minute serious monologue OPTIONAL- one-minute song or dance.
Design/Technical Concentration:
	Portfolio of stage scenery, props, costumes, lighting or sound technical or design work. Optionally, you may also present other original artwork that is relevant.
