Each billing cycle students living in university housing receive 100 free minutes of domestic long distance phone service.
Any additional minutes are .05 cents each.
To obtain your long distance six-digit access code. go to MYJSU. Choose the housing option and enter the current semester and year. Once you enter this information, your long distance code will appear at the bottom of the page. You may also obtain your long distance code by going to the Telephone Center and showing your student ID card.
To dial long distance: From your campus phone dial 16 plus your 6 digit code and then 9+1 and the area code and desired phone number.
Your 100 free minutes begin on each of the following dates
Billing Date: Thursday, July 17
For Period: June 19- July 16
Billing Date: Tuesday, August 19
For Period: July 17- August 18
Billing Date: Thursday, September 18
For Period: August 19- September 17
Billing Date: Thursday, October 16
For Period: September 18- October 15
Billing Date: Wednesday, November 19
For Period: October 16- November 18
Billing Date: Thursday, December 18
For Period: November 19- December 17
You will have the same long distance code each semester that you are a student at JSU. DO NOT share your code with anyone. You are responsible for ALL calls made using your code.
DO NOT use your long distance code to dial local numbers. If you are unsure if a number is local, check the Calhoun County telephone directory in your room, or call the Telephone Center. To dial a local number simply dial 9 plus area code 256 plus the desired number. To dial an on-campus number just dial the last four digits.
