Gaslight Era Detectives Pathfinder

(Houston Cole Library)

Notes: Gaslight-era detectives are contemporaries of Sherlock Holmes, whose period of activity was from the mid-1880s through the end of World War I. Like Holmes, many of these operatives are cerebral "consulting detectives" who as often solve the problem from their rooms as they do at the scene of the crime. An added bonus of reading fiction of this type is the atmosphere invoked of a bygone era.
