| UPD Home Page > Crime Alert University Police Department Issues Crime Alert The
University Police Department requests that members of the JSU community
be
vigilant and report any persons that may not belong on campus. Recent
offense reports involve individuals who are entering parked
vehicles on campus and removing books and other property. Recent
reports
show that suspects are targeting unlocked doors and we ask that
all vehicle owners take security precautions by locking all doors and
removing valuables from plain sight. Faculty, staff, and
students are also asked to report any suspicious persons to UPD,
particularly those seen tampering with parked vehicles. Persons owning
books should also take additional measures to prevent thefts. Stolen
book reports tend to increase near the end of the semester. Books
should not be left at any unsecured location and owners should ensure
ways to identify their individual books. If there are any questions or concerns
please contact the
University Police Department at 5050 or 6000. NOTE: If you have any questions about any crime or you want to report a crime please contact the University Police Department at 782-5050. Follow medical updates concerning the Swine Flu at http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu/. Crime Alert Archive |
