Welcome to Psychology at JSU
The Department of Psychology at Jacksonville State offers the Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees. Our department strongly emphasizes applied behavior analysis and the experimental analysis of behavior. Our curriculum includes theory, research, and practice, which we view as interdependent and complementary.
Our undergraduate program has two major purposes: 1) providing students an understanding of psychology and its application for careers as scientist-practioners; and 2) preparing students for postgraduate education by offering independent research, applied practicum, and thesis opportunities.
Our graduate program currently emphasizes preparation for careers in experimental psychology and applied behavior analysis.
To support these goals, members of our department engage in research and professional and community service consistent with our instructional programs. We also offer elective and support courses for students in areas of study outside psychology.
