ATI Retesting Information:

Prior to retesting, you need to fully review the content for the ATI Content Mastery Exam that you are repeating. Test scores do not usually improve without going into the test and printing the “Topics to Review” and using the ATI materials, your textbook and notes to restudy the content. Once you have completed this detailed review, retest on the nonproctored exams and score greater than 90%. If you know you had trouble with one unit of the course and scored low on it in the class, add that material to your review. I have stated several times that retesting without studying is like spitting in the wind. It just hits you in the face and does not improve your knowledge level.

Retesting for ATI is on August 21 at 9:00 a.m.

Thank you, Dr. Kay Williams-Prickett

Graduate Scholarships Available:

The Alabama Board of Nursing received two appropriations for graduate scholarships. The post-baccalaureate scholarships require that the applicant have an unencumbered RN license, have an official transcript reflecting the earned baccalaureate degree, and a completed application. Fifteen (15) scholarships at $3,800.00 each will be awarded. Recipients are required to practice in Alabama for one year immediately following graduation.
The Alabama state legislature also appropriated $200,000.00 for graduate scholarships to those individuals seeking a graduate degree in nursing or health-related field. Forty (40) scholarships are available at $5,000.00 each. Applicants are required to have an unencumbered RN license, have the equivalent of a baccalaureate degree, and agree to teach in a college or school of nursing in Alabama for a minimum of one year following graduation.
Scholarships will be awarded based on answers to the application questions and to assure geographic distribution.
Deadline for application is August 31, 2008. Applications are available on the Board's web site.
