Complete the following steps NO LATER than May 10th in order to be considered for the program:
- Submit a completed JSU application form and application fee of $20. Applications
- Submit official ACT or SAT scores.
- Submit High school transcript (transcript through first semester of the senior year) or GED certification.

My writing and reading skills have improved tremendously! .I gained many friends during my experience in ExSEL ! . I learned how to work with a team in ExSEL. .I improved my ACT score after I succeeded in ExSEL! .I owe so much to my ExSEL staff: they have taught me how to think and think fast!

I Will:
- Strengthen basic skills in reading, writing, mathematics, studying, and reasoning through various learning channels.
- Establish realistic academic and vocational goals.
- Develop personal life skills, such as: time management, decision-making, social skills, and responsibility.
- Meet faculty mentors, counselors, and peer counselors who will assist me throughout the summer and my college career.
- Develop computer skills, accuracy, and speed.
- Develop appropriate attitudes and behaviors required to be successful at JSU.
Successful completion in the ExSEL program (C or better in all courses) will enable me to do the following:
- Enroll as a conditionally admitted (CA) student for the fall semester.
- Pre-register for skills building courses prescribed by the ExSEL team.
- Meet with faculty and peer advisors throughout the fall semester through LS 104, Academic Success Skills, to assist in the transition from ExSEL to college.
