This exit counseling session is designed for graduating students or students that are leaving school!
Our records indicate that during your time here at Jacksonville State University, you received financial aid in the form of a Federal Direct Student Loan and/or Guaranteed Student Loan. Now that you will be graduating or leaving, you should make special note that the loan must be repaid. Failure to repay can result in serious consequences.
As part of your graduation, federal regulations require that you complete an exit interview session. This session may be done online at www.dlservicer.ed.gov or by attending exit sessions scheduled near graduation. The online counseling is designed to help you understand the repayment of your student loan. Read instructions below to help with online counseling. Please submit the Borrower Information page and the Rights & Responsibilities Checklist to the Financial Aid Office upon completion of the exit interview. The information will be retained in your permanent file.
The Federal Direct Student Loan Servicing Center and/or Bank will be sending you specific repayment information regarding your payments. For inquires about your Federal Direct Loan, call the customer service at 1-800-848-0979 or online at http://www.ed.gov/directloanor www.dlservicer.ed.gov. To consolidate your student loans with the William D. Ford Direct Loan program or for consolidation questions, call 1-800-557-7392.

ONLINE INSTRUCTIONS
You should have received a U.S. Department of Education Electronic Access Code (EAC) (now referred to as a PIN) from Federal Student Aid Programs. PLEASE RETAIN THIS PIN FOR YOUR RECORDS. If you do not receive your PIN please visit the PIN web site at http://www.pin.ed.gov or call 1-800-801-5806. Hearing impaired individuals who have access to a TDD (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf ) can call the following number: 1-800-511-5806.
This PIN gives you access to your personal information on various U.S. Department of Education systems over the internet. You may use your PIN to access your account information on the Direct Loan Servicing System web site, which provides information you need about your Direct Loan.
Using your PIN is as Easy As 1-2-3.
1. Visit the Direct Loan Servicing System web site at www.dlservicer.ed.gov
2. To access you personal account information, enter you PIN when requested. There is a lot of important account information available, right at your fingertips! You should review and update your address information, if necessary, to ensure you receive important mailings about your account.
3. You can access the Direct Loan On-Line Exit Counseling
Session from the Account Information portion of this web site. The
exit Counseling Session gives you information to help you understand repayment
options, interest rate calculations, payment
methods, deferment and forbearance options, and much more. Experiment
with the Exit Counseling quiz -- you will be asked questions about information
that you should already know about your Direct Loan. You should select
the repayment plan that you will use to repay your Direct Loan.
