Newsletter - 2009 Concert #1

McClellan has never seen or heard anything like this! The Machine, America’s top Pink Floyd show, has forged a 20-year reputation of excellence, extending the legacy of Pink Floyd, while creating a legacy all their own.

The New York based band focuses on making every show an authentic Floydian experience for their fans. Known for performing a diverse mix of The Floyd’s extensive 16-album repertoire (complete with faithful renditions of well known hits as well as obscure gems), The Machine’s stellar musicianship, dramatic lighting and video, and their passionate delivery sets them above and beyond the rest.

In the classic tradition, The Machine explores collective improvisation paralleling and even rivaling that of an early 1970’s Pink Floyd mentality. Their use of expanded theatrical elements and elaborate stage displays continues in the spirit of the later Floyd lineups of the1980’s.

The members of The Machine include founding members Todd Cohen (drums) and Joe Pascarell (guitar, vocals), with long time stagemate Ryan Ball (bass, vocals) and newcomer Scott Chasolen (keys, vocals).

Weather
With all the rain we have had recently, we're sure that weather has been on your mind. Current weather predictions for this weekend still look favorable for a lovely evening at Longleaf Park. If that slight chance of rain has you nervous, you can purchase our Anytime Tickets -- this package of 3 tickets can be used in any combination for any concert and is a great value besides. With our Anytime Package you can purchase 3 tickets for $60; you'll save $5/ticket on individual advance tickets or $10/ticket on gate tickets.

Picnic Options
A Music at McClellan tradition is a picnic in the park. Check out the picnic tips on the website or send us a photo and your favorite recipes and we'll post them online. Don't feel like fixing your own, but still want dinner in the park? The 19th Hole at Cane Creek (www.canecreekgolf.com) will offer box dinners with concert-goers in mind. They will be joined on site by J&D Concessions, Big Pappy's Kitchen, and Maggie Moos. What could be easier?
