Dedication Ceremony - April 1st, 2000
"A wonderful event!"

April 1st, 2000 starting at 10:00 a.m. was the official day to celebrate Dugger Mountain's new Wilderness designation. Over 500 people attended the event which featured presentations from Congressman Bob Riley, US Senator Jeff Sessions, wilderness advocates Bruce and Francine Hutchinson, the Alabama Environmental Council, the USDA Forest Service and many others. Musical presentations included the local talent of Bent Creek Bluegrass Band, and bluegrass superstars Distant Cousins, as well as Native American performers featuring the Whitehorse Singers. Below are some scenes from our digital photo album.
