Draft planning documents available
The newly established 9,000-acre Mountain Longleaf National Wildlife Refuge is currently closed to public use. During 2003 Refuge staff developed the Draft Public Use Plan, Draft Hunting Plan, Draft Compatibility Determinations and Environmental Assessment to guide future public use on the Refuge. These documents can be downloaded from the US Fish & Wildlife Service website at:: http://southeast.fws.gov/mountainlongleaf/publicuse.htm
The public comment period for these documents closed on January 27, 2004. The documents are currently being finalized and a final document will be distributed to all those who requested the draft version.
