Mike Hathcock An employee of JSU since 1987, Mike is the Director of the Television Services Department. He is responsible for the electronic equipment used by Television Services, The Department of Communication, WLJS-92J, The JSU Sports Network, and assists other JSU departments including Distance Education. He has worked in the broadcast industry since 1975 as an air personality and engineer at several area radio and TV stations. Mike is the "voice" on many JSU promotional videos and commercials and is the voice heard on the JSU telephone registration system, on-line registration, and the Human Resources "new employee" orientation multimedia program. He also reads the graduate's names at JSU Commencement ceremonies. In addition, Mike produces and hosts "Gospel Music Southern Style," a one-hour television program. Plus, he hosts a five hour Sunday morning radio program which is also called "Gospel Music Southern Style" on WGAD in Gadsden. Mike is the Chief Engineer for WJXS-TV24 located in Self Hall. He also oversees all in-house and remote broadcasts including live JSU sporting events. Additionally, Mike serves as a freelance engineer on TV production trucks throughout the area.
Keith Thomas Keith Thomas began at JSU in 1989 and since then has produced numerous award winning videos. As the Production Coordinator, he manages all areas of production including producing, directing, scripting, lighting, editing and shooting. He also supervises the production staff, interns and lab assistants.
Ted White Ted White, hired as Assistant Engineer in 2002, brings to Television Services over twelve years experience in broadcast production with Harvest Media, along with a background in industrial electronics, computer repair, and networking. Additionally, Ted's digital photography hobby has allowed him to provide the majority of the photos on this website.
Stephanie Morgan A 1987 Graduate of JSU, Stephanie came to work at the University in September 1987. She joined the staff of Television Services as Secretary in May 2003. She brings with her many years of experience in layout/design and public relations. In addition to her typical secretarial duties, Stephanie is also responsible for the design and scheduling of content on the Daktronics GalaxyPro electronic message boards located at the Theron Montgomery Student Commons Building and Pete Mathews Coliseum.
Bobby Mikel Bobby Mikel began working with Television Services as a student worker in 2005, and was officially hired as a Production Assistant in February 2007. He is experienced in Media 100 and Final Cut Pro editing systems. Bobby also works as a freelance audio technician for various events throughout the state. In April 2007, Bobby received the John C. Turner Student of the Year Award from the JSU Department of Communication.
Steve Kines Steve Kines, hired in August of 2007 as Production Technician, brings to Television Services over 25 years of experience in video production. Steve operated his own video production company in this area for a number of years where he gained a strong foundation as a professional producer. Steve's responsibilities include operating and programming content into the Daktronics ProStar Video Display Screen at Paul Snow Stadium; producing "Inside Gamecock Athletics," a show done weekly during football season; and providing technical assistance to the Communication Department. He also produces a new show - JSU Today - which started the spring of 2008. JSU Today highlights current events and significant people at JSU. |
