- All
high school seniors (Class of 2008) and juniors (Class of 2009)
within a 70 mile radius of JSU are eligible to apply
- One
student will be chosen per eligible high school, up to the enrollment
maximum of 16 participants
- The
applicant must have an overall grade point average of B or better,
have completed Algebra II and express an interest in engineering
and technology
- The
student should submit two documents: 1) an informal letter application
reflecting his or her interest in technology, 2) a short resume
(no more than one page) via e-mail attachment to Mr.
Phil Dean
- The
student's counselor should submit one document: a letter recommending
the student and confirming his or her grade point average and
successful completion of algegra II via e-mail attachment to Mr.
Phil Dean

Are
you a high school junior (class of 2009) or senior (class of 2008)?
Are
you interested in majoring in engineering or technology, but want to
learn more about these fields?
At the
JSU Technology Summer Institute, you will:
- Participate
in exciting exercises in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), robot design,
introductory computer programming, drafting, and rapid prototyping.
- Visit
two local manufacturing facilities that use the latest technology advancements
to produce their products.
- Learn
about transits and right-angle trigonometry in an outdoor instrumentation
demonstration.
- Hear from
recent graduates and JSU Technology & Engineering faculty to learn
more about JSU's program offerings and post-graduation career opportunities.
In
addition to a great learning experience, consider these added benefits:
- Each student
who successfully completes the 5-day program will receive a $250 expense
stipend and a certificate of completion.
- All noon
meals are included for Institute participants (served in JSU's Jack
Hopper Dining Hall).
