Dr. Margaret Pope Scholarship
This annual scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Health,
Physical Education, Recreation Administration, or Exercise Science &
Wellness. The stipend is variable based on their participation in
extra-curricular activities and academic achievement. |
Ms. Barbara T. Wilson Scholarship
This scholarship is given annually, the dollar value varies and is awarded to an
HPER major based on their participation in extra-curricular activities and
academic achievement.
Alabama Parks & Recreation Association
The Alabama Parks & Recreation Association offers an annual scholarship
generally equivalent to tuition for one semester. The award is based on
scholarly achievement and extra curricular activities, assists and encourages
students to pursue careers in the Recreation area.
The qualifications include:
1. Scholarship shall be for one semester of normal tuition.
2. Recipient must be a declared Recreation major.
3. Shall be of Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing.
4. Must have a minimum 2.25 GPA.
5. Shall live within APRA District IV which includes the counties of Blount,
Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Etowah, or St. Clair.
6. Shall be a member of Alabama Parks and Recreation Association. The current
student membership fee is $10.00.
American Sports Medicine Institute
This $1,000 annual stipend is awarded to students with concentrations in
athletic training and based on scholastic achievement, faculty recommendation,
and experience in the sports medicine field.
Northeast Alabama Traffic Club
This scholarship is for approximately $1,000 and any major can qualify.
