The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences offers a diverse, challenging,
and rewarding field of study to help individuals improve personally, to make
informed consumer decisions, to enhance the quality of life for families and
consumers, and to prepare for exciting professional careers. Degree programs
include: (1) a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a
concentration in child development, dietetics, Human Sciences merchandising, or restaurant and
foodservice management and (2) a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a
teaching field in Family and Consumer Sciences. Minors offered within the
department include: Family and Consumer Sciences, Fashion Merchandising,
Nutrition and Foods, and Restaurant and Foodservice Management.
