The mission of the Educational Administration Program Area within the Department of Educational Resources of the Jacksonville State University College of Education is to recruit and prepare educators for effective practice in the field of educational administration with special attention to curriculum and instruction. The team of professors in this area seeks to encourage a professional commitment to democratic and inclusive educational models by practitioners guided to be creative decision makers. Commitments to diversity, social justice, a broad knowledge base grounded in constructivism and emerging and traditional curriculum theories, and reflective, ethical practice are considered to be characteristic components of educational leaders who successfully complete the program.
