State University. The Communication Department works
closely with local print, broadcast and student
media, including the daily newspaper The Chanticleer,
TV-24 television, and WLJS-92J radio.Alabama. With over 9,000 students
enrolled at JSU and over 200 communication majors, the university
is a center for teaching and research in communication and education.Jacksonville
State is located at the foothills of the Appalachians about 1.5
hours
Northeast of Birmingham and 2 hours west of Atlanta. The University
and department are committed to a diversity
strategy while devoted to increasing enrollment figures to 10,000
in the next few years.
