He
serves as adviser to The
Chanticleer, the student newspaper; The Mimosa, the university’s
yearbook; and WLJS, the campus radio station. He also serves as adviser
to the JSU Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. He is
a 1976 graduate of Jacksonville State University, and he received his
master’s degree in English from JSU in 1984. He worked as news
director of WDNG radio in Anniston for eight years and was a reporter,
columnist and editor at The Anniston Star for 14 years.
