Department of Communication

Television Studios

Two television studios are housed in Self Hall. Students choosing the interest area of Radio and TV will gain experience in broadcast news and production. Students produce a variety of programs in the beginning television laboratory: news, interviews and commercials. On-camera announcing is also taught in this lab. Afternoon and
evening laboratory hours are available for students to perfect their broadcast skills.

The video editing stations have Power Mac 9600s and Media 100 digital video editing systems, using Macromedia Director, Flash, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Adobe After Effects and Boris Effects. A flatbed scanner, a CD-ROM Rewritable drive and two Mackie audio mixers are also used. The audio labs use the Spectral digital audio editing system, with 256 audio track capability. Students in New Media and Radio and TV areas of interest use these labs.
