Relations Organization (PRO)
PRO has historically
assisted in the hosting of or sponsored many campus events, including
the annual Communication
Alumni Brunch/Luncheon during homecoming week and the department's
Award Luncheon during Communication Week (typically held each
Spring semester during April). The April
2008 field trip pictures to the Georgia Aquarium are just
one example of a student activity visiting a professional PR
practitioner in action.
Peer
mentoring is another benefit of joining this student organization.The
Public Relations Organization is arguably the most active student
organization
for communication students at JSU. They strive to provide opportunities
for student enhancement including mock portofolio review sessions
and job interviews, as well as student lunch get-togethers on
multiple occasions. They
"spread the word", information about events/activities through
campus press releases such as the one below, and interactive
with the student media and local media outlets whenever possible. Amber
Cannon has
been elected as the new President for the 2009-2010
academic year,
