Curriculum and Instruction --- Undergraduate Programs


The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers programs that are fully accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC), and the Alabama State Board of Education (SDE).

Requirements for recommendation for a degree in education:

    • The student must have met all requirements of the degree programs as outlined in the catalogue, including the completion of prescribed practicum and internship experiences.

    •  
    • The student must have maintained a 2.50 grade-point average in all hours attempted.

    •  
    • The student is to complete the degree program in education within four years after admission to the Teacher Education Program.

    •  
    • The candidate for graduation must earn a passing score on a content area examination which covers the content of the teaching field(s) and professional studies.
