The mission of the Drama Department at
Jacksonville State University is to offer our students
complete range of the theatre experience. We provide a solid foundation in
theatre history, literature, theory, and performance, while developing
individual talents through the exploration of various areas of
specialization and the experience of practicing classroom knowledge by
creating theatre. Part of our commitment to provide a superior
program for our students has lead to the department's accrediting by the
National Association of Schools of Theatre. The Drama Department has outstanding facilities that include a 372 seat proscenium theatre with a fully equipped stage and up to date lighting and sound systems. The department also has modern, fully equipped scenery and costume shops that allow the students hands on experience with the latest technology. JSU Drama's Nov 2003 Production of Proof
