Students in the Jacksonville State University Drama Program are strongly supported by a subscription and donor based season along with experimental theatre productions that allow them to learn and grow in their art.  They may become involved in Renaissance Faire productions or work backstage on touring shows.  There are work-study and university aid positions available to drama majors that allow the students to earn while they learn in all areas of theatre production and management.

Students are also challenged with classical theatre productions, fully produced musicals, new plays, and "risky" plays.

Students will find a friendly yet serious atmosphere in the JSU Drama Department.  From students, to staff, to faculty, the Drama Department is a caring place to be. 

Mandatory academic advisement is though, insuring that the drama major meets all theatre emphasis areas and degree requirements in a timely fashion.  Annual assessments of each major enables the faculty to further assist each student's development and potential.
